Our vegan dark chocolate truffles recipe is the first in our little series of #reciperevamps. You may or may not know that oneillkitchen started life as dairyfreesince93′, 4 years ago! Within the last 4 years, we’ve ebbed and swayed with the blog, but now, with our new name and wordpress and all of these glorious things, some of our old recipes need a little updating (especially the photos!).
We decided to start with our vegan dark chocolate truffles recipe today, as the ingredients were in the cupboard and they’re really easy to make. 4 years ago we made them with super dark chocolate which worked brilliantly, and are the more “adult” version, whereas now we used a slightly less bitter chocolate, which work great for kids! We also played around with alcoholic dark chocolate truffles too, for now, settling on amaretto flavour.
They are great for Christmas, as they started off life in our 2 days of Christmas series, but they also work really well as dinner favours or making yourself look absolutely amazing date treats too. Just be warned, the vegan dark chocolate truffles recipe is a lil’ messy!

Vegan Dark Chocolate Truffles Recipe Notes:
- You need to add water because you want to seize the chocolate. When the chocolate melts, it will melt into a fudgy texture, which you need as there is no other ingredients to give the texture.
